Mexico City’s Michelin-Starred Taqueria El Califa de León Brings Authentic Tacos to Chicago This November
Foodies, get ready! El Califa de León, Mexico City’s only Michelin-starred taqueria, is making its way to Chicago for a limited-time pop-up. Famous for its thinly sliced beef tacos and signature handmade corn tortillas, this legendary taqueria will bring its authentic flavors to Tacombi locations in Wicker Park and Fulton Market for two weeks.
The festivities kick off with an exclusive one-night-only event on Wednesday, November 13 at the Wicker Park Tacombi (1442 N. Milwaukee Avenue). Guests can savor all four of El Califa’s iconic tacos during this special debut.
Starting Thursday, November 14, a curated taco selection from El Califa will be available at both Wicker Park and Fulton Market locations through Thursday, November 28. This Chicago pop-up follows El Califa’s successful stateside debut in New York last month, brought to the U.S. by Tacombi, a beloved taqueria chain that arrived in Chicago last year.
